Like all good ideas, the Oilskin fabric was born of necessity. Scottish sailor Emilius Le Roy discovered that the torn sails on his ship could be recycled and made into waterproof coats by painting them with oil. Highly effective against unrelenting seas, the coats were soon adapted to use on land and became fondly named Driza-Bones. Updated to complement a modern way of life, the Quilted Vest offers the warmth of a jumper while retaining all the functionality of Oilskin.
